Virginia – the name of Queen Elizabeth I of England, who was known as the Virgin Queen – resides in the southern United States with very different geography. It extends from Atlantic Ocean to the Blue Ridge and Allegheny mountains. One of the most picturesque states in the country. Virginia is perhaps the most traditional of all 50 states. Some of the most important events in American history took place here. This was one of the first places the history of live performances. In northern Virginia, visit the home of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, George Mason, Robert E. Lee, James Monroe, and many other prominent figures in American history. If you go to Arlington National Cemetery, you walk among headstones that chronicle the history of America and has the opportunity to remember and honor the war heroes of the nation. In the Visitors Center you will find maps, guidebooks, exhibits, and information services include places of burial. Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown (the birthplace of the U.S.) are three of the most historic sites in Virginia, do not miss if you are interested in American history.
Shenandoah National Park is well above the classic American panorama, 300 square kilometers stretching along the crest of the Blue Ridge Mountains, a precious memory of the great hardwood forests that once covered the Northeast. This area is full of trails for biking and hiking or even a nice drive along the Blue Ridge Mountains.
The oceanfront of Virginia Beach has many things to do and discover. The hotels are directly on the beach here, and all shops are a throwback trash on the street. This leaves pleasant views directly from many of the hotels in the beach. There are some good beaches nearby that are much less crowded. There are also plenty of restaurants and shops on the boardwalk.
Do not forget to visit beautiful beach East Coast: Virginia Beach. Promoted by the Guinness Book of Records as the "Longest Pleasure Beach, Virginia Beach is a family travel destination, friendly, it offers the classic beach vacation. The Virginia Aquarium & Marine Science Center is the largest state and one of the most visited aquariums in the nation, not to be missed.
