What does the slope mean in this graph?
a wood is being pulled at a constant speed, so in the graph, the force to push it is one the y axis, and the mass of the wood is on the x axix
what does the slope represent
That should be obvious, the slope is the acceleration.
Consider y = ax
clearly a is the slope
So F = ma, and if we plot F versus m, then the slope is a, the acceleration
However, here we have a problem, don’t we? the mass of the wood doesn’t change, and we’ve been told that the wood is moving at constant v, which implies a = 0.
