My wrist is really sore I have a show tomorrow whats the best way to wrap it for riding?
I think I strained/sprained my wrist last night I have a hunter show tomorrow what is the best way to wrap it so I still have full contact on the reins?
Do not tell me not to go ride.
Ice it tonight, take some ibuprofen, just one should be fine. Try not to use it too much or at all tonight and before your hunter show tomorrow. Switch between ice and heat in case it’s inflamed–if it is inflamed than take an anti-inflammatory like neproxen. Ice always come first and then heat. Keep a wrap or brace on it and then take it off before the show unless you can somehow cover it up without anyone knowing about your wrist. Be careful how you move it, maybe twist it a couple ways just to make sure it’s not going to hurt while you ride. It should be okay to ride, but after that focus on taking care of your wrist so it can get well faster. As for the wrapping, just take some ace wrap or a splint from the pharmacy. Wrap around your wrist and hand in a figure 8 so it has support around the wrist. Wrap the palm, but leave out your thumb poking out between the wrap. Your fingers shouldn’t need to be wrapped.
