Can I get HSV-2 from oral SEX?
Hello,
I was curious to know if I can get HSV-2 if I receive oral sex from my girlfriend? I have been doing some research and everything I read says that’s it’s rare to get HSV-2 from oral sex. I have been tested for HSV-1 and I was positive. e kiss all the time. Does that mean she has HSV-1 now? And if so, can I get HSV-1 outbreak on my penis? I am bit nervous about this matter because I don’t know if she has HSV-2 or HSV-1. I do not want to ask her to get tested because she will think I will think she’s a excuse my language, W****.
Another topic of interest, is using latex condoms. Every time I use a Trojan non lub no spermicide condom, the shaft and glans of my penis seems very irritated and red and itchy. Is this an allergic reaction?

The only way that would be possible is if you gave oral sex to your girl friend (if she happens to have HSV2). You’re right it’s not common to get HSV2 on the mouth from having oral sex, but you could get it if you give your partner oral sex while they have an out break.
A lot of people have HSV1, it’s typically what causes cold sores on the mouth. Most of the time cold sores are passed during child hood by innocently kissing or being kissed by some one that has cold sores. If you only did a blood test there isn’t a way to find out where an out break will take place, the blood test doesn’t tell you that. If you haven’t had oral sex yet then most likely it’s on your mouth. There is a chance that your girl friend could have HSV1 on her mouth too, but don’t assume this. If she or you gives oral sex while you have an out break of cold sores on your mouth you could give your partner HSV1 on the genitals.
You should know herpes can be passed on even if condoms are used, the condoms may be an allergic reaction, triggering an out break or you may just need to use some water based lube along with the condoms.
The best way to find out if you have HSV1 or HSV2 is to be tested. If she loves you and wants to be with you she wouldn’t mind getting tested.
